Frequently Asked Questions.png
  • What types of book covers do you design?
We specialize in designing covers for various genres including fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, self-help, academic, and more. Our team tailors designs to match the tone and essence of your book.
  • What are your rates for your services?
Our e-book cover package comes at a price of $169, while our print book cover package, which also includes an e-book cover, is offered at $219. For a detailed breakdown of what each package includes and more pricing information, please refer to our 'Prices' page.
  • How does the cover design process work?
Once we agree on the deadline and the best package via email, we'll send you a form to fill out. This form covers the important bits about your book: the summary, characters, themes, and your design ideas. You'll get the first cover proposal in 10-20 days. If you're not into it, no worries! We'll ask for more details (maybe some examples) and create a new idea or a totally different concept for the second proposal. But if that doesn't hit the mark either, we might not be the right fit, and we'll cancel the project without charging you. Hopefully, you'll love our work, and we can tweak it until it's just right. Our regular package includes up to 4 rounds of significant revisions and unlimited minor tweaks.
  • How long does the design process take?
The timeline varies based on the complexity of the project. Typically, initial concepts are delivered within 1-2 weeks. Revisions and finalization can take an additional 1-2 weeks, ensuring a polished end product.
  • Your portfolio doesn’t include an example cover of my book genre. Can you still design a cover for me?
Absolutely! Even if our portfolio doesn't feature a specific example from your book's genre, we're well-equipped to design a cover that perfectly aligns with your book's essence.
  • What if I'm not satisfied with the initial designs?
If the initial concepts don’t meet your vision, we'll provide a second concept, aiming to better align with your expectations. In rare cases where neither concept aligns, we believe in transparency. If our design approach isn't the best fit, we'll respectfully conclude the project at no charge.
  • How many revisions do you provide?
Our custom design packages usually cover up to 4 major revisions for substantial changes and offer unlimited minor revisions within reasonable bounds. This doesn’t include a complete redesign or an entirely new concept.
  • Do you provide stock images for the covers?
Yes, we have an extensive library of high-quality stock images through our annual subscription with Shutterstock. These images are included in the project price.
  • Can I supply my own images and have you use them as part of the cover design?
We're more than happy to include your own images in the cover design, given they meet certain criteria. They need to have clear copyright and be available for commercial use. To ensure the best quality, please ensure the images are well-lit and high resolution (300 dpi).
  • Can you design a series of covers that maintain a cohesive look?
Definitely! We're great at making series look connected. We'll keep the theme, style, and branding consistent across all the books in your series, so they look like they belong together.
  • Can I order an e-book cover now and upgrade to a print cover later?
Absolutely! If you start with an e-book cover and later wish to extend it to a print cover, we offer an easy upgrade option. The print upgrade, available for $50, covers the difference between the e-book and print cover packages. Feel free to reach out whenever you're ready to enhance your cover.
  • Should I wait until I have a final page count and blurb to order my print book?
There's no need to wait! Even with an approximate page count, we can manage the eBook + print package. But it's important to have the final trim size of your paperback book in order for us to create the general look for the print cover. Once we have the final page count and blurb, it's easy to adjust the spine width and back cover text.
  • Can you design promotional materials for my book?
We offer a range of promotional materials including Facebook covers, Twitter banners, Instagram posts, teasers, and various swag items like bookmarks, posters, and roll-up banners. You can order these separately at any time.
  • What file formats will I receive upon completion?
Upon completion, you'll receive the final cover design in industry-standard formats suitable for print (PDF press files) and digital use (high-resolution JPG). Additionally, we can provide other formats based on your specific requirements.
  • Do you use AI-generated images?
We do not use AI-generated images in our designs.
  • Do you provide interior formatting services?
At present, interior formatting services are not part of our current offerings.
  • Do you provide logo design services?
Currently, our specialization lies in book cover design. However, we plan to expand our services to include logo design in the future.
  • When do I pay for the project and what are the payment options?
Once the eBook cover is confirmed, we'll send you a PayPal invoice covering the entire package cost. If PayPal isn't accessible to you, our invoice provides an alternative option to securely pay using Debit/Credit card. Please keep in mind that all the art or text changes requested after the payment has been made are charged extra.
  • Do you offer rush services for urgent projects?
Yes, we understand tight deadlines. Depending on our workload, rush services may be available without additional fees. Contact us with your specific timeframe for further discussion.
  • How to credit the book cover design?
Simply add 'Book cover design by Dee Dee Book Covers' in the copyright or acknowledgment page of your book.
